Our brother knight Dr. Fred Yeganeh shared his personal story of growing up in Iran and his perspective of how the 20th century history of Iran frames Iran’s interaction with America and the West. This was a unique opportunity to get to know Fred better and to gain insight into current events.
Fred’s Bio:
Fred was born in 1966 in Tehran, Iran, to an Iranian father and American mother of German heritage. He attended Iranzamin elementary school, an international school, and his family left Iran in November 1978 in the middle of the revolution. His father at that time was the minister of finance and economics. He then grew up in Washington, DC, and ultimately went to college at Stanford (electrical engineering / computer science), medical school at University of Maryland, residency in radiology in New Mexico, fellowship in nuclear medicine at Georgetown, and has been working at Advanced Radiology in Baltimore for 23 years. He is married to Tammy and has two college bound daughters. He and Tammy were confirmed into the Catholic Church one year ago and he joined our Council just a few days after that.
