OCTOBER 2020 BUSINESS MEETING NOTES

Blinke (Admissions): · This year’s Quota for the Council is 14…and we have already had 3 prospects; though none have yet taken the Exemplification; we continue to reach out to them to do so. · We have a new candidate up for vote, Harrison Weber. He is 2016 graduate of Loyola High School and a 2020 graduate of Salisbury University (English and Creative Writing); He works at Ace Hardware on York Road. He plays in a band; his instruments are the banjo and synthesizers. He is a parishioner at Nativity and was recruited by Greg Szymaszek. He is very excited about the Knights and looks forward to getting involved. Programs (Flannery): · “Crabs to Go” on November 1st, pickup at noon at the Hall; $55 for a dinner for 2; must be pre-ordered ----please tell everyone; opportunity to stay at the Council and eat and watch the Ravens/Steelers; coordinated by Dan Flannery · Ongoing discussions related to future meal events (e.g. Seder, Lenten) and a potential Silent Auction · Car Raffle – Bill has 1,000 tickets…are there any volunteers to help sell them (though not through the mail) · Use of the Facebook Page (Blinke) Life (Marquez): · Pregnancy Center North Update · Center for Pregnancy Concerns – Howard Street: Virtual Ribbon Cutting on 10/22; Brother Tim Dygert is on their Board Faith (M. Burke): · Rosary before Business Meeting · Fasting Brothers (support our priests at our parishes): contact Tim Linz · Little Sisters of the Poor: Collection Day is 10/17 · Adoration at Christ The King on Wednesday 10/28 · Latin Rite: St. Alphonus 7am, 1st Saturday of every month (11/7) · Memorial Mass: still finalizing details, but tentatively at Immaculate Conception at 3:30PM on 11/8; Reception at the KofC Lounge after Family (Briggs): · JMJ Update (Meredith) – ~$12K in Participants; $8K in Donations; $3,500 in Donations; over $20K Net · Franciscan Center Update (G. Burke): They need monetary donations; also next potential volunteer date is 10/24 – to be confirmed Community (Meredith): · Bicycles Update by Lenhoff or Woolley · Coats For Kids program to be facilitated by Jacob Anjum; look for an upcoming email · The Council is looking into retirement home visits for Christmas
