October 15, 1927 – January 12, 2020
Santo Joseph "Joe" Salvaggio, 92, passed away on January 12, 2020; loving husband of Antoinette Salvaggio for 65 years; beloved father of John Salvaggio and his sweetheart Myra Orme, Joanne Salvaggio Bolonda and her husband Scott; loving son of the late Joseph and Angelina Salvaggio; dear brother of the late Lois Salvaggio; cherished grandfather of Joseph A. Salvaggio, Brenton Davis, Meghan, Lauren, Kristen Newman; step-grandfather of McKenna, Keaton, Kiley Bolonda.
Joe Salvaggio had a passion for serving others. He was a proud veteran, serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, a 4th grade teacher in Baltimore City Schools, and later as Chair of the Business Department and Director of Student Affairs at Baltimore City Community College.
Joe enjoyed 30 years of retirement, and stayed happily busy volunteering with Oregon Ridge Nature Center, Kiwanis and the Dulaney High School Key Club, the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph's Parish, and the Cockeysville Senior Fitness Center. He also loved traveling (he asked to renew his passport just last week!), going to the Eastern shore, drawing and painting wildlife, nature (he knew every species of tree and leaf), singing, and spending time with his family as an involved Dad and Poppop.
